About us
Adrian Boots (BSc Hons Geography & Environmental Management, MSc Built EnvironmentResearch) is a landscape ecologist with a passion for all aspects of nature and natural history. Through his articles, courses and events, Adrian helps people see the landscape in a new and exciting way. His events are always a journey of discovery and are enjoyed by all.
Adrian has worked as a university lecturer and research associate, and
a conservation adviser on Countryside Stewardship (CSS), Environmentally
Sensitive Areas (ESAs), Higher Level (HLS) and Catchment Sensitive Farming (CSF) schemes, helping farmers
and landowners achieve greater environmental benefits from their land.
He also specialised in raised water levels and has been a DEFRA consultee
for the Environment Agency's Catchment Flood Management programme.
Adrian now currently runs private and corporate courses, writes articles, and designs nature trails
& learning materials.
Adrian's published work includes numerous academic papers, a regular monthly article on Wild Food for vibrant regional magazine, The Mendip Times, and his first book commissioned by the Mendip Hills AONB service. In 2010 Adrian was elected a fellow of the Royal Geographical Societey.
